Snegurochka (The Snow Maiden)
An old man and his wife haven't got any children.
У старика и его жены нет детей.
They're very sad about this.
Они очень опечалены по этому поводу.
"Let's make a child out of snow," says the man.
"Давай слепим дочку из снега", - говорит старик.
They make a pretty snow-girl.
Они лепят красивую снежную девушку (Снегурочку).
"Look!" says the woman.
"Смотри", - говорит женщина.
“Her lips are red and her eyes are open!"
"У нее красные губы, и глаза у нее открыты!"
The snow-girl is alive!
Снежная девушка живая!
The old couple are very happy.
Старик со старухой (пожилая пара) очень счастливы.
They call their new daughter Snegurochka.
Они называют свою новую дочь Снегурочкой.
She is kind and polite. But she is pale and shy.
Она добрая и вежливая. Но она бледна и застенчива.
Now it is summer.
Наступило лето.
Snegurochka is not well.
Снегурочке нехорошо.
"Go out to play," her parents say.
"Иди погуляй", - говорят ее родители.
They are worried.
Они волнуются.
Snegurochka is in the forest with her friends.
Снегурочка в лесу с подружками.
But it's very hot, and Snegurochka isn't happy.
Но день очень жаркий, и Снегурочка несчастна.
"Let's jump over a fire," the girls say.
"Давайте прыгать через костер," говорят девушки.
Snegurochka jumps - and melts.
Снегурочка прыгает и тает.
She is gone for ever.
Она исчезла навсегда.

Dear friend
I want to tell you how I spend my winter holidays:
Every winter me and my parents always travel to the mountains that are next to our city. It doesnt take a lot of time to get there, about 2 hours. When we get into our hotel room which we usually stay in for a day or two. I like doing snowboarding there. There is a really lomg toad which goes down the hill. I really enjoy doing it. After sometime we get food, rest and go back to our car and travel to our home again.
