1 Brad came/had came round to my house last night. He wanted to use/using my computer because his crashed/had crashed earlier in the evening. After to spend/spending an hour and a half surfing the Net, he went/had gone home! That’s what friends are for!

2 To lose/Losing your mobile phone is always a problem! I can’t stand to be/being without mine. I lost/had lost my mobile phone a couple of days ago, so I asked my best friend to call me and I went/had gone all round the house, listening for it! Finally, I heard it in the garden! I dropped/had dropped it in the grass!

3 Becky had phoned/phoned last night to tell me about the swimming competition she had been/was being in earlier that day. After to talk/talking about it for an hour, she said/had said good bye and put the phone down. She didn’t ask/wasn’t asking me about my day once!

4 I saw/have seen a man in the street yesterday. I thought/had thought I knew him, but I couldn’t remember where I had seen/saw him before. I’m usually good at remembering/to remember people, so this was strange. When I was getting/got home, I put the TV on and there was the man! He was a TV presenter!
