From 1945 to 1964 in the country there was a democratic regime, at the same time the capital of the country from Rio de Janeiro was transferred to Brasilia. In 1964 there was the next military coup and the subsequent five presidents of the country were military. Only in 1974 democratic changes started happening. In 1967 the country was renamed into the Federative Republic of Brazil. The country is the member of the UN and the majority of specialized agencies of this organization, Organization of American States
