"Yet originally February 23 was celebrated as the birthday of the Red Arshsh to commemorate the victory at Narva and Pskov on German troops. Букингемский дворец – это маленький город – с наличием своего отделения полиции, двух почтовых офисов, госпиталя, бара, двух спортивных клубов, кинотеатра и бассейна. Во дворце насчитывается близко 600 комнат и приблизительно 3-и мили красных ковровых дорожек. В настоящее время Парадные залы постоянно используются королевой и членами королевской семьи для приема и развлечения гостей по случаю различных торжественных событий, церемоний и официальных мероприятий. В Галерее королевы проводятся выставки из королевской коллекции : огромная картинная галерея с работами Рембрандта, Рубенса и др., а также французский севрский фарфор, французская и английская мебель. До недавнего времени дворец не был доступным широкой публике, но уже летом 1993 года двери этого музея впервые были открыты для широкой публики. Экскурсия заканчивается прогулкой вдоль южной стороны сада, откуда открываются восхитительные виды на западный фасад дворца и знаменитое озеро. Так же открыты для широкой публики Королевские конюшни, лошади с попонами, с государственной великолепной каретой, которая расписанная итальянским художником Чиприани, существуют и более современные экипажи и автомашины. Очень интересным событием является ежедневная «смена караула». В течении получаса караульный отряд в ярко-красном обмундировании и медвежьих головных шапках следуют от казарм Веллингтона к Букингемскому дворцу для принятия ключей от старого караула.
