All educated people know Aleхander Pushkin, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Leo Tolstoy, Anton Chekhov. Five Russian writers and poets won the Nobel prize in literature: Ivan Bunin, Boris Pasternak, Mikhail Sholokhov, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, Joseph Brodsky.
