1. I’d like to read another book, I (have read) this one. 2. The girl wants to eat, she (has not eaten) anything. 3. The words of the poem (had been forgotten) by Pete at the last lesson. 4. By 2 o’clock tomorrow all the students (will have been asked) by the professor. 5. By the end of the term two English novels (had been read) by us. 1. The teacher let us go home. 2. My mother told me to buy some meat in the shop. 3. Alice said that her friend lived/lives in Moscow. 4. The teacher said to me that I had not done the work well. 5. I asked Nick where he was going. 6. I asked Boris if his friend lived/lives in Moscow.
My favoite school subject is probably English. I love to read and write. Writing is very enjoyable for me. It can be fast or slow, long or short. I could write a chapter of just one sentence. I could write a short poem or a long copy a long conversation I heard.
Writing is an exercise for the brain, it requires thinking. You can’t write unless you think about it. Sometimes you can write a little bit, ut you have to think a lot to write a little bit. Or maybe you only need to think a little bit to write a lot. You could use fancy words, or maybe you like simple words.
Writing can be used for anything. You can string a series of words together into a song. You could write down a description of the reaction two chemicals had on eachother. You could write a short story about a walk in a park during each season, or you could write a long novel about a fantastical land far away where mystical creatures live.
Writing is a good outlet for creativity. Let’s say you like to paint, but you’re in the process of moving and all you have in your suitcase is your clothes, toiletries, and laptop. You’ve taken an interest in creative writing. You’re inspired by the fancy hotel you’re staying at, but you don’t have your painting supplies and you don’t have an art p rogram on your computer. You decide to describe the hotel in detailed writing. As you write, you’re inspired to write a story about the hotel and the people that work here and stay here.
Perhaps you’re bored. You’re sitting on the couch, casually channel surfing for something that looks worthwhile. You finally switch off the TV and sit quietly for a minute. You remember that creative writing essay that’s due on Friday, and it’s Thursday. For a minute you panic, and then calm down. It’s Thursday, and the essay isn’t due until tomorrow. You turn the TV back on, and flip to the movie channel. There’s an old western movie on, and you’re inspired to write about cowboys, life on the ranch, and old style shoot outs with the law. Bordom banished!
Reading is a great way to gain knowledge about a wide range of subjects. You can read books about anything, comets, cooking, ants, queens, fictional creatures, adventures, mysteries, thrillers, historical fiction, anything! There are books about writing books, books about clams, books about travelling around the world, books about languages, books about math, everything! God gave us the Bible, His Word, for us to read and to learn from!
Reading can be leisurely or serious. Perhaps you have a test and need to study for it. Reading is a great way to study, as well as taking detailed notes. Reading is great for quiet time. Maybe you have a younger sibling that takes naps. During that time, you could read. In fact you can anywhere!

English is definitely my favorite subject.
