Now, I began. I woke up at about 7 o'clock and got up. I went to the bathroom where I took a cold shower and went back to the bedroom to dress. Then I went for breakfast at 8.15. After breakfast I sat and read the newspapers or in summer I had a walk round my garden. I went into my study at 9 o'clock and met my students there, and the day's work began.
