Любопытство по отношению к киту было частью моей жизни столько, сколько я себя помню. Когда я был очень маленьким, мой дедушка пел песню, которая началась так:

Большой кости и с большим хвостом...
Песня продолжала описывать, как этот кит был хозяином своего мира до того дня, когда он встретил незнакомца: большую блестящую серебристую рыбу, которая отказалась признать власть кита.
