5 Read the extracts from different stories. Find and correct three mistakes in each.
1 I was 14 years old then I first became interested in
archaeology. I was looking for fossils one Sunday afternoon
when I made the discovery that made me famous. I am
never forget the feeling of seeing it there in the ground for
the first time. It was awesome?
2 We were in the Chemistry lab at school when we noticed the
strange smell. All of a suddenly, there was a loud bang. What
is going on? Our teacher walked in from a lab next to ours.
Her hair was a mess and her glasses were black with smoke.
Lucky, she was more shocked than hurt. 'What happened,
Miss?' asked one of my classmates.
3 The school trip to the science museum is a day I'll never
remember. We had a great time at the museum. When we
were going back to meet the others at the bus to go home, my
friend and I got stuck in a lift. The lights went off and the alarm
didn't work. We were on trouble. What we were going to do?​

New Year's is the funniest and the most magical holiday of the year. I always wait for it, because this night something mysterious happens. One New Year's Eve my parents and I went to a huge town square, where there was a large beautiful New Year tree. There were many people, all were laughing and having fun. In the middle of the square there was a tall ice hill and all the kids rode down​​. I also wanted to ride, but my mother was very afraid and would not let me ride. Then I asked my dad give me a ride. It was great! There were many little children around and my huge dad with me in his arms. Mom laughed louder than anybody else.

Новый год самый веселый и волшебный праздник. Я всегда очень жду его, потому что в эту ночь всегда происходит что-нибудь интересное и загадочное. Однажды в новогоднюю ночь мы с родителями ходили на огромную городскую площадь, где стояла большая и очень красивая елка. Там было много народу, все смеялись и веселились. Посередине площади стояла высокая ледяная горка, и все дети катались с нее вниз. Я тоже хотел прокатиться, но мама очень боялась и не разрешала мне прокатиться. Тогда я попросил папу прокатить меня. Было так весело, вокруг маленькие дети и мой огромный папа со мною на руках. Мама смеялась громче всех. 

The family, warm and joyful holiday is the New year. Everyone is waiting for the new year magic. Many believe that the new year night fulfills all desires. Especially looking forward to this holiday children, because they Ded Moroz brings a lot of interesting items. People send Christmas cards to their relatives and friends, and make each other surprises.

The whole city is preparing for this magic holiday. Winter streets are decorated with colourful garlands and flags. Everywhere hear the tinkling of bells. In the houses decorate the Christmas trees, which together with father frost and snow Maiden are the main characters of the New year. Bound threads of beads in the festive tinsel and shining balls, they decorate every family. On top necessarily burn bright asterisks.

Kids diligently write to Santa Claus their requests on the gifts would like to get. They believe that the Grandfather frost and his granddaughter snow maiden come from the forest on a sleigh pulled by Troika fastest horses. In these minutes, with bated breath, all make their wishes. It is very important to believe that they will certainly come true.

All begin to congratulate each other, wish health, happiness and success. After all the New year is a fabulous holiday. He gives all of us faith in something new, bright and interesting. All of the bad old and unnecessary, remains in the past year. Early in the morning every child finds under the Christmas tree welcome gift and regrets that again accidentally overslept visit Grandfather Frost.
