Четние.раздел 2. 1 learning and writing about pasta 2 pasta stories 3 cooking pasta 4 pasta: a world favourite 5 pasta hobbies 6 shopping for pasta 7 history of pasta 8 making pasta tastier a)spaghetti, macaroni, lasagne, penne. are you hungry yet – hungry for pasta? pasta, in all its shapes and sizes, is a kind of noodle made from a special kind of flour. the word ‘pasta’ is italian and it comes from a latin word.many people think that marco polo brought pasta to italy from china around 1295. a lot of historians, however, think pasta was in italy long before that. b)does it really matter where pasta came from way back in the past? probably not, when you think that people all over the planet now eat pasta. in italy, every person eats around twenty-five kilos of pasta a year! everyone from north america to india loves pasta. no matter what kind of pasta you like best, or what you put on it, pasta is tasty, healthy and very easy to cook. c)cooking pasta is not difficult; the hardest part about making it is deciding what kind you want! after you make that big decision, get a pot and fill it with water. add some salt and heat the water until it boils. next, add the pasta. read the back of the packet to see how long you need to boil it. usually, it doesn’t take longer than 15 minutes or so. d)when pasta is ready, it should be soft, but not too soft. put it into a plastic or metal bowl with lots of small holes in it to get the water out, then put it on a plate. delicious! pasta is tasty straight from the pot, but you can make it even better. everyone likes different things with their pasta. some people like cheese, some people like meatballs, and probably everyone likes tomato sauce. e)if you get a chance to go to italy, why not try a different kind of pasta every day you are there? find out what the pasta or the pasta dish is called in italian and surprise the people you are travelling with by ordering in italian! get a notebook and keep a record of the different kinds you have tried. make notes about what it was like and if you thought it was tasty or not. f)even if you don’t eat it, you can still have fun with pasta! there are lots of different kinds and you can probably find a large variety in the pasta section of your supermarket. collect different kinds of pasta and paint the noodles bright red, blue or purple. the colourful pasta shapes look very pretty if you put them into a bottle. you can even do art projects with pasta and make cards, pictures or posters. g)of course, eating pasta is wonderful, but reading about it is great too. did you know that there are lots of children’s books that are all about pasta? there’s one book called noodle man: the pasta superhero. there’s another one called alice in pastaland. and then there’s everyone’s favourite, strega nona, which is about a nice witch, a young boy and a magic pasta pot!
