1) For some time the children watched the strange bird flying in circles above their house.  It was huge and looked scary. Suddenly, it plunged and grasped a pigeon at the ground. The hunt was over.

2) No one noticed the big car drive along the road.  It was sliding in silence and seemed to have appeared from the thin air. It rapidly passed the spectators and vanished in the dusk.

3) The boy felt someone take him by the hand.  He screamed and rushed aside. In the complete darkness he hit against some hard surface and fainted.

4) In spring people can hear birds singing in parks and gardens.  The season, most awaited,  is full of expectations and romantic fluids. Streets are crowed and busy with people chasing the dreams they have accumulated during the cold wintry days.

5) We can watch our city growing.  The concrete jungle keeps invading the innocence of the peaceful countryside crushing and smashing the fragile beauty of the nature. It will never be recovered after the heartless touch of the human.

6) Did you see Margo win the one hundred-metre race?  She is awesome and has always been committed to her dreams. You can be better than her if you persist with your self-motivation.

7) In my dream I saw myself climbing a high mountain.  It was Everest, the tallest mountain in the world. I was stumbling and dying of harsh freezing winds, but went on for the peak. I don't remember the culmination of the dream as my cat woke me up.

8) We loved to sit at the fireplace and watch wood burning in it. Sherlock was a fascinating story-teller whereas I and Mrs. Hudson were grateful listeners. I suppose, that was one of such nights when a sudden urge to trust Mr Holmes' brilliant narrations to my dairy came over me.

The effort over the past 150 years to create an effective and respected system for preparing teachers in the United States has not been easy. A large body of research on the history of teacher-education reform is a tale of persistent mediocrity and resistance to change. The author's aim in this article is not to revisit this sad story, but to examine an old and enduring problem that has long blocked the path to a truly professional education for teachers, that teaching is an enormously difficult job that looks easy. The author explores the roots of the gap between the reality and the perception of learning to teach by first spelling out some of the characteristics of teaching that make it such a difficult form of professional practice. He then examines key elements in the nature of teaching that make the pro- cess of becoming a teacher seem so uncomplicated.
