Do you go window shopping? How often do you go shopping? What was the Last thing you bought? Where and when did you buy it/ them? How much did it/ they cost? Did you ask for a bargain?
Henry asked if his mother could iron his shirt. Mother was surprised. She said that Henry never wore anything but T-shirt and jumpers. Henry agreed. He said that they had been told that they had to wear something very formal that today, like a suit or dark trousers and a plain shirt as some important guests from the local Coucil were coming. Mother said that she understood but she didn’t see the problem. She asked if Henry knew where the iron was. Henry told his mum that he knew he you wouldn’t be able to cope with that and that he was am in a hurry. Mother said that she was also in a hurry. She had got a meeting and she couldn’t put it off. She asked him not to waste any more time. Henry asked if she meant that he had to do the ironing himself. Mother answered affirmatively. She asked him to get the ironing board and put his shirt on it. Henry said that he had done it and asked what the next step would be. Mother asked him to pour some water into the opening on top of the iron. Henry cried that he had poured too much and water had spilled over onto his shirt. Mother told him not to mind. The water was clean: it wouldn’t spoil his shirt. Then she asked him to plug the iron into the wall socket. Henry cried that it was getting really hot. He asked if he wouldn’t burn his shirt? Mother answered negatively. She said not if he adjusted the temperature dial to the type of fabric his shirt was made of. Henry asked how he was supposed to know that. Mother said that it was the steam. The iron was ready to use. She asked him to go ahead. Henry said that it was right . It was cotton. He asked what was that sound. Mother said that it was written on the label.
