во-вторых, этим утром герой испытал очень сильное потрясение, которое даже сменило его мировоззрение.
правда, он не подумал, что видел что-то плохое. но решил, что просто полковник знает что-то такое, что полностью успокаивает его совесть. но никак не мог догадаться, что же это.
поэтому главный герой и не смог поступить на военную службу, как хотел раньше, а этим рассказом он хотел доказать слушателям, что все дело может быть в случае.
