According to the most popular version, badminton comes from Indian game called “Poon”. The beginning of modern badminton is 1872, when duke Bofort brought wooden rockets and balls with feathers from India to England. Duke liked this game so much that he organized first competition that year. It was held in his estate called “Badminton”. That is why game is called so.
In 1860 Isaac Sprat published the book “Badminton -Battledore – new game” where rules of the game were described for the first time. Since 1900 Wimbledon traditional international competitions have been held. For long time they were unofficial world badminton championship.
First exponential badminton competition in Olympic Games was at 1972.Badminton is the third sport in the chart of the hardest sports. Modern badminton is a game of full value with its own difficult rules. People usually dream to have different things. As for me, it is more important to be than to have. My dream is to enter the medical university and become a qualified specialist after the graduation. Why so? Many people may consider it too ordinary for a dream.
To my opinion the greatest pleasure is to do what you like. I like to help people, it is painful for me to watch them suffering. The profession of doctor will allow me to make people a little happier or maybe even to save someone’s life.
I remember when I was a little kid my grandmother was very ill. She suffered of cancer. And there was nothing I could do to ease her pain. I loved her very much. She died many years ago, but I still can recall her kind face. And I have understood that I need to help other ill people in future. There is no other profession to attract me.
Certanly, I understand that it is not easy at all to be a doctor, expecially a good one. But I am sure that it is exactly what I want to be, that’s why I will surely manage to do it.
