How did all the planets get there? How is it only our planet has life? Will we ever travel to other planets? These are questions I often think about. I think our planet is the best. It looks so beautiful from space with its mixture of blue and green. The beautiful blue color of Earth comes from the oceans which cover 70 per cent of the planet. More than seven billion people live there. The other planets look too strange to me. Mercury is just a red, hot ball, pretty much the same as Mars. Mercury is very hot during the day and very cold at night. It is also the fastest planet in the Solar system. Saturn looks like a real planet. Its rings give it an extra-special look. It is 100 times the bigger of Earth. Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system. One of its volcanoes, Mat and Olympia’s Mons, is named after the Egyptian god of truth and justice. The fourth planet, Mars, is named for the Roman god of war. Until 1976 scientists believed there could be life on Mars. Neptune takes more than 160 years to go round the sun. Jupiter is the largest planet that we know of. It is a very stormy planet because it spins so fast. True or False

1. People believe there is life on the planet Mars. F

2. Oceans cover about 90 per cent of the Earth. F

3. Saturn’s rings give it an extra-special look. T

4. Mars is the hottest planet in the solar system F

5. Jupiter is the smallest planet that we know. F

Task 2. Writing

Choose one of the planet and write an essay about your last trip.

Where did you go?

What did you do there?

What was the weather like in that place?

How did you feel coming home?

What you will always remember about that place?

Saturn Jupiter

Mars Venus

For example: I went on the Saturn 2 years ago. It was an amazing trip with my friends. We saw many interesting things there. We wore white spacesuits. It wasn’t very easy but it was really comfortable.

With the development of civilization man's interference in nature grows up. it leads to different negative factors are: the pollution of water, air, soil and the destruction of the ozone layer. this problem must be solved if we want to preserve life on our planet. this problem is global problem that's why all countries of the world, all people, young and old, must take an active part in the protection of natural resources. factories and plants must have purification systems to preserve the purity of water, air and soil. we must take care of plants, trees, animals, birds and fishes, especially of those that are dying out. we also have a red book where rare and dying out plants, birds, animals are registered. though the role of people in the solution of ecological problems has greatly increased, we can't say that we are doing all in our power, to stop harmful processes in preserving the environment. the following radical measures must be taken: 1.the replanting of trees that have been cut down; 2.nuclear tests should be stopped; 3.purification systems must be installed at plants and factories; 4.natural resources should be used more rationally; 5.rare and dying out birds, animals and plants should be protected; 6.precaution measures should be taken against the destruction of the ozone layer.
