Все различие заключается в том что в Active Voice ТЫ совершаешь действие, то есть сам, а в Passive Voice над предметом совершается действие.
Например:
Active Voice: I wrote a letter (Я написал письмо)
Passive Voice: A letter was written by me (Письмо было написано мной)
Соответственно в пассивной конструкции меняется форма образования какого либо времени. Общая формула в образовании пассивного залога: be+V(3)
Если к примеру в Активном залоге в Past Simple: V или V-s
то в пассивном залоге в Past Simple: was/were+V(3)
