Adelina Dmitriyevna Sotnikova (born. 1 July 1996, Moscow) — Russian figure skater serving in women's figure skating. The first and only Soviet and Russian history, the Olympic champion (2014) in women's figure skating. Two-time silver medalist of the European Championships (2013 and 2014), world champion among juniors 2011, fourfold champion of Russia (2009, 2011, 2012 and 2014), silver medalist of the first youth Olympic games. Honored master of sports of Russia.
Sotnikov was called a "Prodigy" in figure skating, due to the fact that in 13 years she performed two extremely complicated cascade in one program: triple Lutz — triple loop and triple Salchow — triple loop
As of may 2016 Sotnikova takes the 59th place in the ranking of the International skating Union (ISU)
