It is true that at the present time many people, especially teenagers, spend too much time in front of a monitor. Television is tempting so it is very easy to get addicted to it. Consequently, adolescents face health problems, such as obesity and lack of vitamin D in their bones, and also social problems because the deficit of social and sports activities limits one’s abilities to communicate and interact with one another.Therefore parents are concerned about their children as television often replaces their hobbies and social life. However, this issue involves not only teenagers. Elderly citizens and, generally, every third person in the modern society prefers a “couch potato” lifestyle as in this information technology era the majority of individuals are under a lot of pressure which afterwards causes laziness. Consequently such apathy makes human exhausted most of the time and not willing to take any outdoor pursuits.
On the other hand, television is one of the most relevant information sources. It embraces a wide variety of interests which makes it popular and liked by mostly everyone. Many learn through television as it offers plenty educational services. There were cases when individuals were educated by watching such channels as Discovery, BBC and so on. There were also situations when television assisted youngsters with learning a foreign language and helped them to improve their listening skills.
In conclusion, the balance between spending time outdoors and in front of a TV depends on one’s mind. People ought to know how to use their time wisely and properly in order to avoid negative impacts.

С другой стороны, телевизор – один из самых важных источников информации. Он захватывает широкий простор интересов, что делает его популярным и за что его любит практически каждый человек. Многие учатся через телевизор, так как он предлагает множество воспитательных программ. Были случаи, когда люди сами учились, смотря такие каналы, как Discovery, BBC и так далее. Также бывает, когда телевизор молодёжи в изучении иностранного языка, улучшая их навыки в слухе.
В заключение, баланс между провождением времени на свежем воздухе и перед телевизором зависит от самого человека. Люди должны знать, как правильно и рационально использовать своё время, чтобы избежать негативных влияний.
