Объяснение:

Often, the axolotl is called the larva of the Mexican ambistoma. In fact, the axolotl is a larva of any kind of ambistoma, but the larvae of the Mexican and tiger ambistoma show the greatest ability for neoteny.

The length of the axolotl is approximately 15-30 cm, the weight of the axolotl reaches about 300 grams. Individual specimens grow up to 45 cm in length, and males are always somewhat larger than females.

The body of the axolotl consists of a disproportionately large head with high growth, slightly flattened with lateral bodies and a long tail. A long fin-comb runs along the back of the amphibian.

A notable feature of the appearance of the axolotl are 3 groups of strongly pronounced external gills that stick out on the sides of the head, appearing as shaggy branches. Such an ornament, combined with a wide mouth and beady eyes, has the exotic look of an ambystoma larva, the appearance of an ever-smiling dragon-like monster.

The life expectancy of an axolotl in natural conditions is about 10 years. In captivity, with good care, animals live up to 15-20 years.

These creatures can be found in North and Central America. In real life, the axolotl is found mainly only in the lakes of Mexico, where there are all the necessary conditions for the life of this unusual amphibian.

The Axolotl comes in five different colors: blue, gold (yellow), leucist (pink), wild (brown) and blue.

Axolotls in nature eat aquatic invertebrates, small fish, amphibians, snails and crustaceans. These amphibians react to the movement of their prey, their eyes are directed upwards, therefore, most often in the aquarium, axolotls are fed by hand or with tweezers.
