The London Transport Museum (LT Museum) is a museum in the London area of Covent Garden devoted to the history of urban transport in the capital of Great Britain. Opened (in its current location) in 1980, in 2005 it was temporarily closed due to reconstruction, it was reopened in 2007. The main site located in Covent Garden and is open to public every day and another site located in Acton and it is known as the London Transport Museum Depot. The museum's collection contains a wealth of heritage vehicles, posters, photographs, artworks, films and videos, engineering drawings, uniforms, station signs and tickets. The galleries are full of interactive exhibits for young people and adults, including real buses and trains to play on. The museum has on display many examples of buses, trams, trolleybuses and rail vehicles from 19th and 20th centuries. One can also find the first underground electric train, from 1890, here. There is a shop at the museum with a world famous collection of Travel and London Underground posters, models, gifts and souvenirs. You just can't go to London and not see this museum! It is a truly amazing place!
