In July 20, 1969 Neil Armstrong (1) (said) "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind". This was the day that men from the Earth first (2) (landed) on the Moon. It was the culmination of years of research and development.
Neil Armstrong was born August 5, 1930 on a farm in Wapakoneta, Ohio. Neil (3) (worked) at the local airport. After starting flying lessons at the age of 15, he (4) ( gave) a pilots license on his 16th birthday, before he had earned a driver's license.
Armstrong (5) (was being sent) to Naval Air Station in Florida in 1949 before he (6) (graduated) from the university. He then (7) (to flew) 78 combat mission in Korea, earning three medals, including the Korean Service Medal. Armstrong, being an engineer by training, (8) (was criticized) by some of the non-engineering pilots, that his flying technique was too mechanical.
Then in September of 1963 he (9) (waa selected) as the first American civilian to fly in space. Later Armstrong (10) (was appointed) Command Pilot of the Apollo 11, which (11) ( touched) down on the surface of the Moon on July 20, 1969. The American flag (12) (was planted) on the surface by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.
The astronauts (13) ( returned) to the Earth on July 24, 1969. Armstrong and Aldrin (14) (were awarded) the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

In the New year's eve my brother and I helped mother with the cooking for the festive table. The festival was celebrated in the family circle. Our parents have prepared wonderful gifts that awaited us under the Christmas tree. But the most unusual gift presented to us Grandfather Frost, who invited our family to her house. My brother and I were very happy to visit his home in Veliky Ustyug! The home of Santa Claus is in a pine forest. Around a lot of snow, ice everywhere figure. There we saw the hut on chicken legs, oak with a chain, a house without Windows and doors. Visited in 12 Months and learned what the names of the months in the old style. It was very interesting!
