Букингемский дворец – это маленький город – с наличием своего отделения полиции, двух почтовых офисов, госпиталя, бара, двух спортивных клубов, кинотеатра и бассейна. Во дворце насчитывается близко 600 комнат и приблизительно 3-и мили красных ковровых дорожек. Очень интересным событием является ежедневная «смена караула». В течении получаса караульный отряд в ярко-красном обмундировании и медвежьих головных шапках следуют от казарм Веллингтона к Букингемскому дворцу для принятия ключей от старого караула.
