Owls are birds that are active at night. There are about 200 types of them. They live in every part of the world, but not in Antarctica. They can be found in forests, deserts, and mountains. They are predators which means they hunt insects, small mammals, like rabbits and mice, and other birds. Some owls can even catch fish. Owls have large round eyes that see well in the dark. They also have very good hearing and can hear a mouse from a long distance. Also, when they fly, they do not produce any sound. This is because of their wide wings and flying feathers that help them not to make a sound when they fly. The colour of their feathers help them to blend in nature. They have strong feet that help them catch their prey. Owls do not have teeth, so they use their beak to kill and eat an animal. There is a myth that owls can turn their head 360 degrees, but it is not true. They can only turn it 270 degrees. So, they see everything around. No one can hide from them

"It's going to be a great day,"I said to myself and gave a little laugh.I don't know why but I had a feeling that something wonderful is going to happen.
The breakfast was unusually tasty too , which made the feeling even stronger.We usually had cornflakes or friend eggs for breakfast but that morning Mum made lovely pancakes with strawberry jam and cream.
"I could eat them every morning ," I said to her finishing up the fourth pancake.

A blue stamp indicated that it was from the college I had sent my applicatiom on.I was hesitant to open it.
