READ THE TEXT AND DECIDE WHICH FACTS ARE TRUE, FALSE OR NOT STATED. IS GENERATION GAP A MYTH? In my opinion, young people are very much different now from what they used to be twenty or thirty years ago.I understand that each generation brings some innovations in their own lifestyles. New things become fachionable. Young people have new role models. That's true. Yet I tend to think that teenagers basically were more or less the same in the 20th century though they had more respect for people who are older, they tried to communicate more with each other, with their parents and grandparents too. Today these factors of our life seem to be insignificant to teenagers. In my view, young people have also become rather careless. listen to the language they speak. Sometimes you can't understand what they are talking about. They use too many shortened words, slang and rude words. When we were young, we didn't dare to use such language in public. I know that many people will remember the so-called "generation gap", which is the myth, tomy mind. I think that parents and teachers shoul explain to teens what must and mustn't be done.Too much freedom is no good thing. Young people of nowadays have much freedom. They create their own style in clothes, music, books. Unfortunately, few of them read books. They watch a lot of trash on TV and are always busy with their computers and smart phones. Something should be done to change the situation.
