The New Year is a very popular holiday in Belarus. Most people start 1) their houses and New Year Trees a week before the holiday. On New Year's Eve, 31 December, people stay up until 2) to 3) the New Year with their family and friends. When the clock is 4) , people are thinking of their wishes (желания) for the coming year. This is one of the 5) we follow. Then we wish each other happiness and good 6) .

These days a lot of people start group chats on smart phones to wish each other a Happy New Year. Life has really 7) with these little smart things. We can see the 8) , who are far away, on Skype! Aren't we lucky!
