Yesterday it was Sunday, so my last weekend was not too long ago and I remember it quite well. I always try to do my best to make my holidays really exciting, because we have only few days in a week for relaxation and rest.
Yesterday my friends and I agreed to meet at my place. First we watched a very interesting TV show "What? Where? When?". Then we took a videocassette and watched an outstanding movie "The Independence Day". This is a story about strangers from the other planets that were trying to conquer the whole Earth and about the struggle against them. The movie is full of visual effects and computer graphics that takes your breath and makes you admire the modern technologies in the cinema. I wish our studios and directors made such movies. "The Independence Day" can be added to the genius pieces of modern art – that is my opinion.
Having watched the film, we decided that it was a time to go outside. The first place we went to was the sports ground. Though it was rather cold, we put on warm clothes and had much fun. Almost all day long we played soccer and basketball.
As for me, I like weekends and holidays, as the majority of other people. And I like telling about my holidays. It's dull to listen about the ordinary working day, how do you think? Every working day looks like another, but every weekend is different from the other. During the weekend we have an opportunity to enjoy the life and having rest.
In Russian schools students vacations are four times a year . The academic year is divided into four quarters . Autumn and spring break is very short . And those and others only last for 7 days. But me and my classmates quite have enough time to go somewhere and have a good time. Usually we go to a rest home or to another city for a change .Winter holidays last two weeks . At this time, good skating and skiing and playing hockey . During the winter holidays , I love going to the cinema and theater , museums , art galleries and concert halls .Summer vacations are the longest . They last for three months. In the summer I have so much free time that I can do many . - I can relax outside the city, go on excursions and travel .Sometimes in the summer with my parents go on a long journey . And We visit the ancient Russian town or traveling on the ship. I love to sail boats . Usually we go to Astrakhan by train and then sail on a ship to Moscow . He drops anchor in each city. We go out to the beach and an hour or go on an excursion . We visit the sights, and we have the opportunity to learn more about the history of this or another city or location.But mostly we spend the summer holidays in the country . In my opinion , there is nothing better than Russian nature. We have a small country house in a very picturesque place near Zahorska . There's a river and a lake . My friends and I often swim there and boating . I love to sunbathe.The lake is a lot of fish , so sometimes I go fishing. I love to sit in silence, waiting until the fish will fall , and listen to the birds sing in the trees . When I manage to catch a fish , I immediately let go of it , because I fish just for fun.When very hot, I usually go to the forest. The air is cool and fresh . I like to walk in the shade of the trees and gather mushrooms and berries . I have a dog named Jack .He was very happy when I take him to the woods. Jack loves to chase butterflies and dragonflies . Sometimes I play with him. I throw him a stick, and he brings her back to me .But last summer my parents decided to go for a change somewhere else . They decided to go to the Crimea . I think it was the biggest mistake they ever made . Here , briefly, is what happened.To begin with , it was very difficult to find a place to stay . We rented a room in a house far from the sea . It was the only place that we managed to get . The road to the beach we took about half an hour. But , as it turned out a few days later , it did not matter . Suddenly, our happy sunny days are over. Rains began . Sometimes brightened briefly , but then it starts to rain again . We could only spend all their time in a movie or in a cafe. Leave was not possible , as tickets must be ordered in advance, they can not change , and we had to spend another week.I'm probably in my life seen so many movies.
