Task 1: Read the film review Variant 1 A review of War of the Worlds by Andrea
I recently went to see War of the the Worlds It's a science fiction film starring
Tom Cruise. The film is based on a book written over 100years ago, although it is
set in modern times. The story is very gripping Duis about alien machines from
space which land on Earth. The film has a happy ending
The acting is very good. Tom Cruise, who plays a father who is looking for
his family is excellent as usual However I didn't think Dakota Fanning was very
convincing as his daughter. The special effects were incredible--the machines
looked terrifying and there were some very scary moments which I didn't enjoy.
This is a classic Spielberg film: fast-moving, not too violent, and full of
action. It was scary but I really enjoyed it Go and see it if you can
Answer the questions

Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin was a Russian poet, playwright, and novelist of the Romantic era who is considered by many to be the greatest Russian poet  and the founder of modern Russian literature

Pushkin was born into Russian nobility in Moscow. His matrilineal great-grandfather was Abram Gannibal, who was brought over as a slave from what is now Cameroon.Pushkin published his first poem at the age of fifteen, and was widely recognized by the literary establishment by the time of his graduation from the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum.

While under the strict surveillance of theTsar's political police and unable to publish, Pushkin wrote his most famous play, the drama Boris Godunov. His novel in verse,Eugene Onegin, was serialized between 1825 and 1832.

Pushkin was fatally wounded in a duel withGeorges-Charles de Heeckeren d'Anthès, a French officer serving with the Chevalier Guard Regiment who attempted to seduce the poet's wife, Natalya Pushkina.
