The past simple tense many years ago there _ (live) a girl called nara. she __ (can) sing very well and play the psaltery .she __ (love) a young man and __ (want) to marry him. one day she was sitting near a large beautiful lake when a rich man __ (see) her. he (like) nara so much that he__ (want) to marry her. as nara__ (have) a groom (жених) she_ (not want) _ to marry the rich man. but the rich man__ (be) very stubborn and his servants _ (kill) nara’s groom and _ (take) nara to the rich man’s palace. the girl _ (be) so unhappy that when everybody was sleeping, she _ (set) fire to the palace , and _(run) away. when the rich man_ (learn) about it, he __ (send) his servants (слуги) after nara. as she _ ( can not) run away from them, nara __ (dive) into the lake and_ (die). from that time the lake was named lake naroch.
