8. Though not man-made, its amazing peak certainly deserves a place in the top 10 wonders of the world as a natural wonder. Standing at 8,848 m tall, it is the highest peak in the world above sea level, and was first conquered by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953.
