My elder sister, Betty, is studying History at one of the universities. Betty can organize her time wisely, when I do not
know what order I should do things in. I find it hard to get up on time, and usually I do not get enough sleep. It's not useful
for my health. I have to wind two alarm-clocks to make sure I do not oversleep.
My sister, an early riser, is awake by 7 o'clock, refreshed and full of energy. While I'm wandering round the kitchen, fighting
the urge to go back to bed, my sister manages to have a quick shower, make her bed, put on make-up, do her hair, eat a full
breakfast and set off to the university. It takes me an hour and a half to get ready. I have a hasty bite and rush out of the
house. Even if I catch a bus at once I still arrive at school 15 minutes late, which always makes me feel guilty. I know that
my lifestyle is dangerously chaotic. I should change it as soon as possible. My mother says that regularity in life will help
promote my health. And I agree with her. It could change my life to the best.

Nowadays our life is getting tenser. People live under the press of different problems, such as social, ecological, economic
and others. They constantly suffer from stress, noise and dust in big cities, diseases and instability. A person should be
strong and healthy in order to overcome all difficulties. To achieve this aim people ought to take care of their physical and
mental health. There are several ways to do it. The state of your body depends on how much time you spend doing sports.
At least, everybody must do morning exercises every day. The healthiest kinds of sports are swimming, running and cycling.
Healthy food is also a very important factor. Overeating causes many dangerous diseases. The daily menu should include
meat, fruit and vegetables, milk product, which are rich with vitamins, fat, proteins and etc. On the other hand, modern diets
are very popular especially among women. Diets may be harmful, if they are used in the wrong way. To be healthy, people
should get rid of their bad habits. It's necessary to stop smoking and drinking much. Everyone should remember that
cigarettes, alcohol and drugs destroy both body and brain. Besides, according to statistics the most of crimes are committed
by people under the influence of drugs and alcohol. In addition, it is recommended to watch TV less, avoid anxiety and
observe daily routine. Certainly it's hard to follow all these recommendations, but every person has to choose between
healthy life style and numerous illnesses.

Archimedes. Why in the first place was the ancient Greek scientist? A Healthy Lifestyle
I consider that man’s health depends on his mode of life. To prevent the diseases it’s necessary to keep some simple regulations: to go in for sports, to eat carefully, to take a rest and to walk frequently in the open air. I’m fifteen years old and the last three years I do my morning exercises. It inspirits and gives strength to me for a whole day. I add dousing with cold water in winter. I think that conditioning to the cold is the main method for preserving my health. My favourite winter sports are cross-country skiing and skating. I prefer to run in the park and play tennis in summer. I go to the swimming pool twice a week the whole year round. Swimming increases the respiratory system. I also try to observe a day regimen. Every day I go to bed and get up at approximately the same time. I give special attention to meals. I don’t eat fatty and high-calorie foods and I don’t drink heavily gas-cut beverages. At my time of life some peers smoke and drink alcohol but I think that it’s dangerous for a human organism and sooner or later it will be injurious to our health. I think that everybody must begin to take care of his health in his youth because it’s easier to take care of our health than to recover it.

Я считаю, что здоровье человека зависит от его образа жизни. Для того чтобы не болеть, нужно соблюдать несколько простых правил: заниматься спортом, правильно питаться, полноценно отдыхать и чаще бывать на свежем воздухе. Мне 15 лет, и из них 3 последних года я делаю по утрам зарядку. Это придаёт мне бодрости и сил на весь день. Зимой я добавляю обливание холодной водой. Считаю закаливание самым главным сохранения здоровья. Мои любимые зимние виды спорта это бег на лыжах и катание на коньках. Летом я предпочитаю бегать в парке и играть в большой теннис. Круглый год я посещаю бассейн два раза в неделю. Плаванье укрепляет дыхательную систему. Также я стараюсь соблюдать режим. Я ложусь и встаю в одно и то же время каждый день. Особое внимание я уделяю питанию. Я не ем жирную и высококалорийную пищу, и не пью сильно газированных напитков. В моём возрасте некоторые сверстники уже курят и употребляют алкогольные напитки, но я считаю, что это разрушительно для организма и если не сейчас, то в будущем обязательно скажется на здоровье. Мне кажется, что каждый человек должен начинать заботиться о своём здоровье в молодости, так как уберечь здоровье проще, чем вернуть его.
