Risk sports are one of the fastest growing leisure activities, they have become popular in the last ten years. At the same time many people think that it’s silly to put your life in danger.
It is generally accepted that extreme sports give people adrenaline, which they lack in their ordinary life. Furthermore, this is the way they react against society which they feel has become dull. What is more, doing extreme sport is the best chance to test yourself.
On the other hand, there have been a lot of terrible accidents, painful injuries, people paid their lives for the excitement. In addition to that, not everybody can afford the expensive equipment for extreme sports.
Though I respect this opinion, I disagree with it. It goes without saying that there are elements of danger in every kind of sport. If you are healthy, strong, sportive, well-coordinated, feel less & self-confident, you will avoid bad falls. As far as expensive equipment is concerned you can rent it instead of buying.
To make my story short, it depends on your traits of character whether to take up extreme sport or not. Everyone decides for himself to risk his life or not. As for me, snowboarding & mountain skiing is the best way of spending my free time.

Dear Kate,

Thanks a lot for your last letter. It was great to hear from you. Sorry I haven't written for so long as I was busy.

In your last letter you asked me some question. Well, I always feel nervous before the exam. I try to be calm and attentive. It helps me to be self-confident. I think reading is the best way to prepare for exams. But in Russia we have a very interesting tradition. Before the exam we put the book under the pillow and it works.

Well, I'd better go now as I have a lot of homework to do. Write me back.

Best wishes,

(name)
