The film Amadeus, (1) d. which was based on Peter Shaffer’s hit play, won nine Academy Awards in 1984. It was beautifully filmed in Prague, (2) c. where the buildings and streets haven’t changed much for centuries, and focused on the relations between Mozart and an intelligent but less talented composer, Antonio Salieri, (3) a. who is played by F. Murray Abraham. Tom Hulce stars as Mozart, (4) e. whose talent as a composer drives Salieri into depression. Some critics think that the part of Salieri, (5) f. for which Abraham won an Academy Award , is the key to the movie. Salieri suffers because he recognises Mozart’s greatness (6) b. which he can admire but cannot imitate. The tragedy is that Salieri helps to destroy Mozart and himself because of his great jealousy.
This is (1) ..a. true story. It shows how (2) ... plans can sometimes go wrong and how (3) ... people can make (4) ... silly mistakes. This happened quite (5) .a.. long time ago - in (6) ... 1979, in fact. The scene was (7) .an.. old people's home in (8) ..a. small town in (9) ..the. north of England called (10) ... Otley. (11) The owners of the home wanted to put (12) .a.. fence around it to make it more private. (14) .The.. work began soon after (14) .The.. New Year's Day when some workmen arrived in (15) ..a. lorry with planks of wood which they put up around the building. It was (16) .a.. very nice fence, said one of (17) .the.. old people. But there was (18) .a.. problem. (19) .The.. workmen forgot to leave (20) .a.. gap for the lorry to drive out through. They had to come back (21) .the.. next day to knock down part of (22) .the.. fence. What (23) .a.. silly mistake! said another resident. It was so funny that we had a laugh. In fact it was (24) ..the most fun we've had for (25) .a.. long time.
