It was a dark and stormy evening when I arrived home from work.. I felt tired and was glad to be at home. As I was taking off my coat in the hall, I heard a strange noise coming from the kitchen. I felt afraid because I thought there was a burglar in there. I stood there silently trying to decide what to do . Then I decided  to go into a kitchen to investigate. I took a deep breath, picked up my umbrella and slwly opened the kitchen door. I laughed with relief when I saw my neighbour`s cat on the kitchen table. It had come in through an open window to get out of the rain. I tok the cat and returned it to my neighbour. "Oh, there you are!" said the neighbour. "You scared me to death!" she said to cat.
