We live in a three-room flat. The first room is my parents’ bedroom, the second is a hall for guests, and the third is my bedroom. My favourite room is, of course, my bedroom. I spend most of my time there as it’s not only a bedroom but also a study. My room is very nice and cozy. I can’t say it’s spacious enough but I have everything I need there. There isn’t much furniture, only necessary things. For more convenience it’s built-in. My bed is situated in the left corner of the room, and my desk is in the right. Beside my bed there is a stylish lamp and a comfortable armchair with some stuffed animals on it. When it’s rainy weather outside, I like to turn on my lamp, sit in the armchair and read interesting books. As for the desk, it contains numerous drawers where I can keep my pens, pencils, markers, text-books, exercise books, notes, diaries and else. There are also some shelves with books in my room. I have a large collection of Russian and English books. There are some posters with my favourite quotations and music bands on the walls. They set a special atmosphere in my room. I like my room a lot. It’s the place where I feel fine. When my friends come over, I invite them into my room. It’s a suitable place both for work and for rest.

Летом школьники не ходят в школу. У них летние каникулы, которые длятся три месяца. Детям не надо вставать рано. Не надо делать домашние задании учить уроки. Поэтому они любят каникулы. Я никогда не валяюсь в постели в солнечное летнее утро. Иногда мы с друзьями идем в кино или на концерт. Иногда мы играем в футбол или бадминтон во дворе. Каждое лето я уезжаю в деревню к бабушке на одну-две недели. Я бабушке обрабатывать огород и ухаживать за курами и утками. В деревне я часто езжу на длинные велосипедные прогулки со своими двоюродными братьями и сестрами. Иногда мы ходим на рыбалку. Я люблю ходить на пляж утром, когда еще не слишком жарко. Я плаваю, загораю и играю с друзьями на берегу реки. Если мой дядя не очень занят, он берет меня и моих двоюродных братьев и сестер в поход в лес. Я люблю спать в палатке, сидеть у костра и петь песни. Летние каникулы никогда не кажутся мне слишком длинными.

In summer schoolchildren do not go to school. They have summer holidays which are three months long. Children don’t have to get up early. There is no homework to do or lessons to learn. That’s why they like holidays. I never stay in bed long in a bright summer morning. Sometimes my friends and I go to the cinema or to a concert. Sometimes we play football or badminton in the yard. Every summer I go to the country to stay with my grandmother for a week or two. I help Granny to work in the kitchen garden or to look after chickens and ducks. In the village I often go for long bike rides with my cousins. Sometimes we go fishing. I like to go to the beach in the morning when it is not too hot. I swim, sunbathe and play with my friends on the bank of the river. If my uncle is not very busy he takes my cousins and me on a hike in the forest. I like sleeping in a tent, sitting by the fire and singing songs. Summer holidays are never too long for me.
