Writing. Read the notice from a student magazine and write your story. (8 marks) We want stories for our magazine. Your story must begin with this sentence:
When Miles looked out of the window, he could see a light in the distance.
Your story must include:
• a journey.
• a difficult or scary situation.
In your story you should:
• give background information.
• describe the main events.
• make sure you have a clearbeginning, middle and end.
• say how the story ended and what the consequences were.
Use a variety of past tenses, participleclauses, adjectives, and adverbs, aswell as some of these phrases:
• Last weekend ... / Two years ago... / On Saturday night ...
• At first ... / Then ... / Next ... /After that ...
• Finally, ... / In the end ...
