In the days before the invention of the radio or television, the majority of people made their own entertainment at home. Many evenings were spent reading a novel, playing the piano or painting a picture in many ways, people were almost forced to find a creative outlet in one form or another.
Things have changed a lot since then, however. Now, a typical evening's entertainment would be to spend a few hours in front of a television. This is not realty a very productive use of one's time or energy and has maybe contributed to a breakdown of communication within a family.
I have bought a newspaper and a book in the morning.
1. We had delicious supper in the very nice café.
2. My dad works five days a week.
Would you like an apple or an orange?
3. Kate’s granny has just had an operation. She is still in the hospital now.
4. Safi and her best friends Molly and Pam are listening to rock music at the moment.
5. My favorite activities are playing chess and playing golf.
6. Life is difficult sometimes in our modern days.
7. My younger brother Tom goes to bed only at 11 o’clock in the evening.
8. Susan and Mary were wearing blue jeans.
9. I don’t remember this strange and amusing story. It’s a pity.
