Nowadays a lot of people speak about immortality. A great number of them dream about eternal life. Others do not agree with this idea and claim that everyone should live as much as he was destined to. Who is right? As far as I am concerned, eternal life brings us nothing but trouble. At the end of life man will be bored and tired, and his life will seem to be aimless. Now I will try to prove my opinion. Firstly, if people understand that life is short, they will appreciate and try to achieve more success during a short period of time. Secondly, as the generations gap is very deep, it will lead to more disagreementsand misunderstanding between the young and the old. And finally, I want to say that there will be shortage of food, water, and space on Earth due to a great number of people, and in the end there will be severe wars and bloodshed. However, there is another point of view which argues that thanks to immortality you will be able to see your parents and children forever enjoying your life together with your relatives. But I absolutely do not support this idea and believe that when billions of people live on earth there will be chaos and you will think only how to survive in this disaster. In conclusion, I want to stress that it is a very interesting problem. There are arguments for and against it. But I hold to the opinion that God gives us as much time to live as we deserve and we have to spend our time with benefit for us, our families, and society.
