The house is built in 1785 — 1786, apparently, by V. Bazhenov. Charm of this really remarkable building is not only in its skillful arrangement on a crest of the small hill, not only in the most refined portrayal of all architectural details, but also that the architect paid much attention to a building silhouette with its two wings and galleries. The impression of extraordinary wealth, elegance of a facade though only the four-columned portico deprived besides a pediment, decorates this magnificent building on proportions is made.
From the lane where there is an entrance on the territory occupied with the house, pay attention not only the solemn gate decorated with Ionic columns, but also the walls of some kind of internal fencing processed by false arches dispersing from them at an angle. Lewis Carrol wrote ''Alice in Wonderland'' as a  present for Alice.
